Armed Suspected Burglar Falls from Carport Roof, Arrested

At 6:07 p.m. June 3, officers responded to an apartment complex on Conroy Lane, to a report that a possibly armed man was creating a disturbance and had forced his way into an unoccupied upstairs apartment. 

When officers arrived, the suspect ignored officers' commands and jumped out of the apartment onto the roof of a carport, then tried to jump back into the second-story apartment window.  He missed and fell to the ground, and was taken into custody.

Officers recovered a firearm and property taken from the apartment. The 30-year-old Roseville man was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries from his fall, then booked into the Placer County Jail on suspicion of burglary, weapons violations and other related charges.

Driver Hits Motorcyclist, Flees Scene

At 10:51 p.m. June 2, officers responded to a hit-and-run collision on southbound Riverside Avenue at the westbound I-80 onramp.  A sedan rear-ended a motorcycle and then left the scene.  The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Witnesses described the suspect car as a silver Toyota-type four-door sedan, with a female driver.

Stolen Items Recovered from Alley Trash Can, Police Search for Suspect

At about 5:30 a.m. May 31, a resident in the 800 block of Main Street noticed a man he didn't know placing items into a trash can in an alley behind his house.  Suspecting the items were stolen, the resident called police.

An officer responded and recovered an air compressor, tools and various building materials from the trash can. He checked the area and determined that they'd been stolen from a trailer parked on Bitner Street. The officer returned the stolen tools to the owner.

The suspect who was seen placing the stolen items into the trash can was described as a tall, slender black male in his 40s, wearing a green shirt.

Saturday, June 2

Garage burglarized:  Sometime overnight June 2/3, someone went into an unlocked detached garage in the 8000 block of Halesworth and took a CD player.

Monday, June 4

Between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. June 4, a home in the 200 block of Ardmore Avenue was burglarized.  The unknown suspect entered the home through an unlocked sliding glass door, and took jewelry.

Hit and Run Collision Damages Fencing 

At 10:31 a.m. on June 5, officers responded to single-vehicle collision by the Methodist Church on Church Street.  The crash damaged fencing and cable wires.  The driver drove away without stopping.  The suspect vehicle is a lowered red Honda Civic with a spoiler, with rear-end damage.

iPhone Stolen from Main Street Grocery 

At about 5 p.m. on May 31, a customer left an iPhone on the counter at the Main Street Grocery.  When he returned to get it a few minutes later, it was gone.  Witnesses saw a male take the phone and leave, going toward Weber Park.  The suspect was described as a black male, about 20 years old, of average height.  He was wearing a white baseball cap, white tank top, and sagging blue jean shorts over red boxers.   He was accompanied by a white male, about 19 years old, average height, with a shaved head. The two were last seen running across Weber Park.

Business Vandalism, Burglaries: 

At about 3 a.m. May 31, officers responded to an alarm at a church in the 6400 block of Stanford Ranch Road, and found that someone had thrown a rock through a glass entry door. Officers checked the area and the interior with a staff member, and didn't find any signs that anyone had gotten in.

Overnight June 1-2, someone broke the back window to a business in the 700 block of Pleasant Grove Blvd. No entry was made to the business and nothing was taken.

At 2:35 a.m. June 6, officers responded to a burglary alarm at a store in the 900 block of Pleasant Grove Blvd., and found that burglars had pried the front door and stole merchandise, then exited out the back door.   The suspects left the area officers arrived.  Officers are continuing to investigate.

Reckless Driver Arrested for Suspected DUI 

At 10:19 a.m. June 3, an officer tried to stop a car that was being driven in a reckless manner on Roseville Parkway near Creekside Ridge.  The driver fled from the officer until her car high-centered on a median in Rocklin.  The 28-year-old woman from Yuba City was arrested on suspicion of evading an officer, DUI and other related charges.

Catalytic Converter Thefts: 

Sometime between May 25 and 28, someone stole the catalytic converter from a 2002 Toyota Sequoia SUV parked in a driveway in the 2000 block of Dorrington Drive.

Monday, May 28

Overnight May 28/29, someone went into tool boxes mounted on a pickup and a trailer in the 1200 block of Trehowell Drive, and took a generator, a ladder, a shop saw, and other tools.  There was no sign of forced entry into the tool boxes, so the thief may have had a key.

Tuesday, May 29

Between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. May 29, someone entered a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Sunrise Avenue by unknown means and took a purse, wallet and various ID and bank cards.

Wednesday, May 30

Between midnight and 5 p.m. May 30, someone cut the gas line to a Chevy Tahoe SUV parked in the 1500 block of Quail Circle.

Saturday, June 2 

Between 8:30 p.m. June 2 and 6 a.m. June 3, a silver 2010 Ford Fusion was stolen from the 1500 block of Grey Owl Circle.

Sunday, June 3

Between 11:15 p.m. June 2 and 11:30 a.m. June 3, someone smashed the window of a car parked in a parking stall in an apartment complex at 8800 Sierra College Blvd., and took a purse and house keys.

Monday, June 4

Between noon on June 4 and 7:30 a.m. June 5, someone stole a Subaru Legacy that was parked on the street in the 1300 block of Blossom Hill Way.    The Citrus Heights Police Department located the vehicle, undamaged and unoccupied, later on June 5.

Tuesday, June 5

Attempted vehicle thefts:  ­Between 9:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. June 5, someone tampered with the steering columns of two vehicles parked in the Park and Ride on Taylor Road at Roseville Parkway.  One vehicle was a convertible, and the suspect got in through the open top. It's unknown how entry was made to the other vehicle.
