Police Arrest Juveniles in Drive-By Shooting

Roseville Police arrested two juveniles in connection with a drive-by shooting around 8 p.m. March 20. 

On March 20, someone drove a compact white four-door sedan through the area of Hickory and Atkinson Streets, and someone in the car fired several shots at a pedestrian.

During the investigation, it was determined that the shooting was related to a dispute over marijuana sales. Detectives have arrested two juveniles in connection with the shooting, and expect to make additional arrests. 

A couple of rounds also struck the wall of a house in the 1000 block of Hickory Street. The residents of the house weren't involved. Their house was simply in the line of fire, according to Roseville Police.

No one was injured. 

Would-Be Purse Snatcher Stabs Woman, Arrest Made

A woman was stabbed in the abdomen while a suspect tried to snatch her purse early Saturday morning. 

At 12:40 a.m. Saturday, March 23, officers responded to an assault in the 300 block of Lincoln Street. A woman was walking on the sidewalk, when a man she didn't know approached her, stabbed her in the abdomen, and tugged on her purse strap.

He didn't get the purse, and ran away in the direction of the railroad tracks.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, and has since been discharged.

With the help of witnesses, officers quickly identified the suspect, a resident of a boarding hotel in the area. Officers located and arrested him a half hour after the stabbing was reported. The suspect, a 26-year-old Roseville resident, is in custody in the Placer County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted robbery.

Commercial Burglaries:

Overnight March 21/22, someone punched a door lock and burglarized a hair salon in the 3200 block of Sierra College Blvd., taking the safe, cash, styling tools and salon products.

At 3:50 a.m. March 23, officers responded to a burglary alarm at a wireless phone store in the 9200 block of Fairway, and found that someone had broken a window in front of the store and gone in, taking merchandise (cell phones and headsets.

Overnight March 24/25, someone broke the window of a bakery in the 1400 block of Eureka Road, and took a small safe containing cash.
