Northeast Roseville

Olympus Pointe, theft: Overnight February 8/9, someone stole a Craftsman tool box and tools from the bed of a pickup in the 2500 block of Dubois Drive.

Olympus Pointe, theft: Between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. February 8, someone stole the hubcaps off a car in the 1600 block of East RosevilleParkway. Witnesses saw a white male in his 60s, with gray hair, in a purple Dodge Caravan in the area at the time of the theft.

Olympus Pointe, theft: Between February 13 and 15, someone stole two sets of golf clubs from an unlocked vehicle on Nunzia Court.

East Roseville

Johnson Ranch, drug arrest: At 12:58 a.m. February 15, officers on routine patrol checked on an occupied vehicle parked at Hillsborough Park, and arrested the driver, a 25-year-old Granite Bay man, on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Officers searched the car and found a concealed handgun. The driver was also arrested on weapons charges.

Sierra Gardens, burglary or vandalism: Overnight February 13/14, someone smashed the window of a medical business in the 1800 block of Douglas Blvd. Nothing was taken, and we're not sure if the suspect went into the business or not.

Sierra Gardens, burglary: Over the weekend of February 16-17, someone broke into a storage shed in the 100 block of Ascot and took garbage bags full of clothing, books, DVDs and other items.

Sierra Gardens, burglary: Overnight February 18/19, someone burglarized a restaurant in the 1800 block of Douglas Blvd., taking money from the safe.

Sierra Gardens, burglary, arrests made: At 12:08 a.m. February 18, officers responded to an alarm at Warren T. Eich Intermediate School, and located two suspects on the roof. A roof hatch had been pried. Two male juveniles, ages 15 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglar's tools, vandalism and conspiracy.

Maidu, vandalism: Overnight February 16/17, someone broke the windows of two cars in the 2200 block of McLaren Drive.

Central Roseville, south of the tracks

Cirbyside, theft: Sometime before 8:30 p.m. on February 15, a woman from Folsom parked her car in the 1000 block of Orlando and placed her purse in the trunk. Shortly afterwards, burglars broke into the car, took registration paperwork out of the glove box, then popped the trunk open and stole her purse. Roseville officers called Folsom Police and asked them to check on the victim's house, since the vehicle burglars now had her address. Folsom Police officers watched the victim's house and met the two suspected burglars as arrived at the residence, recovered stolen property and arrested them.

Tip: Please don't ever leave your purse or wallet in your car. If you insist on storing your purse and other valuables in the trunk, stash them out of sight before you drive to your destination--otherwise a thief may already be in the area, watching you "hide" your valuables.

Cresthaven, drug arrest: At 10:20 p.m. February 20, a concerned citizen called in a possible drunk driver in the area of Cirby Way and Northridge Drive. Officers responded and contacted the suspect driver. They recovered a concealed weapon in the vehicle, and a variety of prescription narcotics and illegal drugs packaged for sale. The 32-year-old Sacramento man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, possession of drugs for sale and other related charges.

Tip: Please do what this concerned citizen did, and call 911 to report drunk drivers!  If you see someone driving erratically or having a hard time staying in his or her lane of traffic, give us a call (you can use your cell phone while driving to call 911). Our officers have taken a lot of dangerous drivers off our roadways because of tips from citizens.

Cherry Glen, vehicle burglary: Between 9 a.m. and 2:10 p.m. February 13, someone got into a locked vehicle parked behind a business in the 600 block of Douglas Blvd. by unknown means. The victim returned to find all the doors unlocked and one door open. Nothing was taken.

Folsom Road, theft: Between 9:15 and 10 a.m. February 14, someone stole a wallet from the purse of a shopper at a grocery store in RosevilleSquare. The suspect soon used the victim's credit cards at local businesses.

Tip: Thefts from the purses of distracted grocery shoppers are increasing. Please keep your purse closed and in your sight and control at all times. Don't leave your purse unattended in your shopping cart while you walk away to look at groceries.

Folsom Road, burglary: At 6:48 p.m. February 16, officers responded to a neighbor's report of someone trespassing in a vacant house in the 200 block of Folsom Road. Officers contacted a suspect and recovered stolen property from the house. A 25-year-old Roseville man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.

Enwood, theft: Between 11:10 and 11:40 a.m. February 18, someone stole a cell phone from the locker room of a gym in the 700 block of Atlantic Street.

Enwood, drug arrest: At 1:30 a.m. February 19, an officer on routine patrol stopped a car in the area of Atlantic Street and Yosemite Street. The driver had an outstanding Sacramento County warrant for his arrest. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun, heroin and codeine. The 45-year-old male driver from Sacramento was arrested on the warrant, and on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a loaded weapon, possession of narcotics, and other related charges.

Central Roseville, north of the tracks

Vineyard, vehicle burglary: Between 1:30 and 2:15 p.m. February 17, someone broke the window of a car parked in the 1500 block of Vineyard Road and took the stereo, an iPod and cash.

Kaseberg-Kingswood, theft: Someone stole a laptop computer from an unlocked car in the 1200 block of McIntosh Way.

North Central Roseville

Foothills-Junction, theft: Overnight February 8/9, someone went into an unlocked car in the 2000 block of Mineral Springs Drive and took a GPS navigation device and loose change.

Foothills-Junction, theft: Between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. February 14, someone stole a Haro BMX bike from a bike rack at Silverado Middle School. A suspicious person seen in the area at the time of the theft was a male teenager, 15-18 years old, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with horizontal black strips over a dark green t-shirt, tan shorts and black skater shoes.

Pleasant Grove, bike theft: Overnight February 13/14, someone stole an electric-powered bike from a car bike rack in the 1600 block of Burgess Drive. The stolen bike is a blue and black Trek 21 speed with a motor.

Stanford, vehicle burglary: Overnight February 12/13, someone got into a car on Lochness Court by unknown means, rummaged through the vehicle and stole the airbag from the steering wheel.

Stanford, theft: Between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m. February 19, someone stole a woman's purse out of her shopping cart while she was unloading groceries in the 10000 block of Fairway.

Tip: We're seeing an increasing number of thefts of purses and wallets from distracted grocery shoppers. Keep your purse closed and with you at all times. Don't leave it in your cart and walk away to look at groceries, or leave it in the cart while you're unloading groceries in the parking lot.

 

Police Beat 6 
West Roseville

Sun City, burglary: between 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., someone opened the garage door of a home in the 7000 block of Hayride Lane by unknown means, and stole a television. The victim, who was in the process of moving in, saw the suspect, a white male in his early 20s with dark blond hair. He fled from the garage and drove away in a dirty 1980s or early 1990s model tan or brown four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or a Nissan.

Junction West, theft: Overnight February 3/4, someone rummaged through an unlocked car on St. Basil Court and took spare change.

Junction West, vandalism: Overnight February 9/10, someone slashed a tire on a vehicle parked on St. Basil Court.

West Plan, stolen vehicle located: Last week we reported that overnight on February 10/11, an Acura sedan was stolen from the 2500 block of Hayden Parkway. On February 14, the vehicle was found abandoned in the 2500 block of Ranchland Way with its stereo missing.

West Plan, construction burglary: At about 9 a.m. February 17, someone broke into a newly constructed house on Enzie Court. An Hispanic male in his 40s, about 5'8" with a small build, wearing a red fleece jacket, was seen running away from the house.

West Plan, construction burglary, vehicle theft: Overnight February 18/19, someone burglarized a construction trailer in the area of Ellesmere Loop and Orchard View Drive, taking tools, and also stole a white 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
