What's Being Built in Roseville? 3 Projects Mentioned in State of City Address

Roseville officials courted developers and businesspeople Friday in the State of the City address at Reimagine U: Roseville 2013, highlighting the city's economic strengths.

Mayor Susan Rohan said Roseville's planning has left it better prepared for the future, citing the nonprofit Roseville Community Development Corporation formed by the city "in anticipation of the state ending redevelopment agencies." That group will focus on attracting and growing local businesses, she said.

Council Member Bonnie Gore said the city has worked to make its permitting process faster and easier for developers.

Council Member Pauline Roccucci said because the city is a "full-service city," meaning it operates its own electrical utility, trash hauler and other services, it's more business-friendly.

And Vice Mayor Carol Garcia highlighted several development projects in the works or being planned around town. See some of what she had to say in the video above.

After the address, Rohan said at least some of the city's success in attracting businesses will be determined by a recognition "in the business community this is the time to make that decision [to expand]–confidence in the market."
