“The HOT Pink 5K’s family-friendly format and community spirit has attracted a loyal following of running enthusiasts and first timers, as well as those who are interested in supporting a local breast cancer cause,” Navarro said. “In fact, past participants have enjoyed it so much they’re returning with their friends and family members,” she added.

According to Dalton, the race was moved to the Fountains at Roseville this year to accommodate the growing number of participants.

“We had outgrown the space available in Historic Old Town and decided it was time to move the race to accommodate the growing number of registered runners, walkers and other participants,” Dalton said.

The increase in participants has also fueled the need for more volunteers. Some of the volunteer duties the group needs help with include; race check-in and registration, finish line support and timing chip removal, parking/traffic control, and event set-up and tear down.  Individuals interested in volunteering can visit the HOT Pink 5K website here and click on the volunteer tab.
