Starting Monday, locals can take advantage of the free yoga, bootcamp and Yang style Tai Chi classes. All classes are outdoor, hour-long and are open to anyone over 16 years old, according to the city.
It's all part of the city's effort to bring more locals to the Town Square, located on Vernon Street. Wine Down Wednesday, a wine-tasting and farmers market night, recently kicked off. A grand opening celebration of the new Town Square is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 in Downtown Roseville, followed by an evening concert at 7:30 p.m. featuring “Journey Unauthorized,” a Journey tribute band. Free monthly movies start Sept. 21, called "Friday Flicks" in the Town Square as well.
Here's the lowdown on the free fitness classes, from the city's website:
- Yoga: From 9-10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays Aug. 26 through Oct. 30
- Bootcamp: 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 27 through Oct. 31
- Yang-style Tai Chi: 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 27 through Oct. 31
